2008 M8 mods bang for buck?

A good friend of mine just bought a M8 2008 model for a song, bone stock with a 100 miles on it, he not a serious sled head but he was wondering what the best mods are because like most guys he cannot resist the urge to screw with things.

Probably mild stuff to begin with, can, clutch etc.

What works in these and what does not.

He lives in the Peace River, Grande Prairie area and would not object to dropping it off and having the work done. Any good cat guys in the area?

Thanks
Kris

PS Is there any issues that need to be dealt with on these machines. (Sorry I don't know a cat from a dog!)

It seems that the folks I've ridden with for the past ten years are now married and not sledding, sledless due to the economy, or have simply gotten out of the sport. I'm a 40 yr old male in good shape, and ride a slightly hopped up (reliable) M1000. I'm looking for people that are interested in riding on weekends to Valemount, McBride, Golden, etc. I am experienced in the backcountry, have the necessary avy gear, and expect those who reply to also be mature, and have the tools and skills needed in the backcountry. My wife also rides, but is out of comission for the season except for maybe a ride later in the season. Basically looking for someone to split fuel with - my tow vehicle is a Dodge 3500 Diesel Quad Cab - I've only an aluminum two place trailer, could throw one on the truck (longbox), or tow a larger trailer if you have one. Thanks.
