Re: trail conditions at altas

NONE!!! Man this sucks, it had called for 3 days of Flurries and snow on Tuesday but that changed on Wednesday. Now just flurries. castle Mtn is calling for 20 CM's in the next 2 days but that is a load of crap as I have looked on all weather vices and maybe 2-3 cm ( They are in big trouble as they have terrible conditions despite their BS reports. I had a couple buddies up their testing skiis yesterday and they said it Sucked. Whereas the HONEST guys at Castle said it was a great day and got rave reviews from the testers.
Fernie at least is not calling for any snow on their site (Flurries).
I hope I am wrong and something blows in.
Be safe out Their.
I talked to an old guy who traps, and he said he cannot rememeber a year for a long time like this one where their is only max of a ft in most areas in the back country and in a lot of open places ( Cutblocks) 2-3 inches.

Re: trail conditions at altas

Sorry about that. It snowed about 3 inches overnight and is snowing lightly
right now. Castle reported 3 CM, and fernie 2. So maybe York got some????
The actual forecast for today thru Sunday on TWN is 2-6 CM's.

Re: trail conditions at altas

Yeah they got a couple inches last night and it is sparse flurries here this morning, but that would be your best bet for this weekend. Polker Rally out their Sunday, so it will probably be busy.

Re: trail conditions at altas

We were camping at Atlas this past weekend (Sat-Mon) and each morning there was a skiff and that's about it. The pipeline going north was starting to get rough but still rideable. Monday was very warm and it was melting fast!

It was our first time in the area and I was impressed with the trails, everything was smooth bit we didn't get to far from the parking lot (Deadman pass was te furthest we got).
