Yeah the snow was great/stable for climbing on the BC side, but thats cause it was like concrete. The was no 'fresh' to be had. It was only 'soft' in places where the sun had poked through the clouds and softened it up. NONE of that fresh foot of snow that fell in Calgary on Saturday night fell in Castle.

Weren't you planning on riding down there this weekend? ![]() Seriously though, did he call yet? The trip that I called you about got cancelled so we are going riding another weekend (probably the one before and the one after the 18/19 - I'm in Kelowna that weekend) if you want to come along. not sure where we are going yet. I wanna see that kitty purr.

Lots of fresh powder but i think we will give it some time before doing to much climbing. We are heading back on Sat just to play in the trees and trails. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: castle moutain Instead of turning left at the Beaver Mines corner we turn right at next corner (1/2 mile or so further south) follow road to the steel gate and unload there. Head west on the road to a wide open area, if you go right it takes you to Lynx Creek campground or go left along Carbondale. There are a couple of ways to get to Lost Lake from there also. Does anyone know the name of the bowl when heading to Lost Lake but instead of turning right at the small steel gate we follow a trail straight thru the gate and the trees to a large bowl? One way in and out by the looks of it. Seems like it is one ridge over from Lost. |
