![]() | Re: Show your Rig!! Nice truck Rich, too bad we lost another G.M. guy to Dodge though. It seems to me that in an effort to make their trucks less expensive, Dodge has taken the quality control out of them I have a few friends that decided to change their brand and bought Dodge's because they were a few thousand less than comparable G.M.'s and Ford's but have been frustrated by a ton of problems with them. My Co-worker just got his 2007 Dodge Diesel back from the shop yesterday. He has 55,000 kms on it and so far has had to replace the clutch, steering box (3 times), front ball joints and tie rod ends, rear shocks, front U joint, rear wheel seals, and his rear brake calipers (they advised him to buy the optional cover for the brake calipers to prevent it from happening again). He only pulls a trailer occasionally and gravel roads are about as close to off road as he goes. I realize that there is a lemon in every batch and maybe he got it, but like I said I have heard similar stories from lots of other Dodge owners. I'm not trying to start the great debate about who builds a better truck (cause I need to do the front end on my Chev for the 3rd time also, but it has 160,000 kms) but it seems like saving a bit of money up front is costing more in the end (not to mention the pain in the ass factor )Hope I don't sound like a kill joy cause thats a great looking rig, I just hope you have good luck with it. I'm still holding out for Toyota to release their diesel.

![]() | Re: Show your Rig!! Hopefully I don't have problems like your co-worker, but I think a guy is going to have problems no matter what brand they have. If I hadn't bought the extended warranty for my duramax it would have cost me at least 20G for repairs over the time I had it (tranny issues twice, transfer case, hubs, heater core, etc...) I looked at GM Duallys before purchasing the Dodge but the 10G extra plus the lack of frame clearence steered me away. Lets just say I'm not going out to get a Ram tatooed on my Arm just yet! haha

![]() | Re: Show your Rig!! 110K on my Dodge and the only fix was the lift pump at 52K. It's an 03 and when you drive the speed limit I can get up to 27MPG (10.4L/100km), even better with fuel additive. Maybe lucked out and got a good one but I won't be getting a different truck. Way to many issues with all brands of new trucks.

![]() ![]() | Re: Show your Rig!! I try and stay out of these truck debates as they all have there ups and downs BUT having said that I have an 06 Dodge 3500 dually with 36,000 kms on it, those are fairly low k's but I can't put any more on it cause its in the shop getting fixed most of the time. At 1700 km the engine went and had to be towed back to Alberta form BC to get a complete new motor (rod went). At 9800 kms one of the injector lines separated had to be towed 175 km to get fixed. At 17,000 kms the transmission started slipping real bad and they had to change out some sort of clutch bands or something (down for 10 days). 21,000 kms had to get it in for drivers side front u-joint. Now at 36,000 kms I look out my window as I type and see a very large puddle of oil on the ground under my passenger rear tire and a stream of diff oil running down the inside of my tire. Now do you think I'll be able to get that fixed before I leave on tuesday for a two week holiday??? Oh and my sun roof started to fawking leak last week too. Also my CD player quit playing. Good thing its a company truck. ![]()
