Costco had a sticky back tile meant for a garage floor. I'm guessing the tiles are 2 foot square. They come in black or white. Cost, I believe, was $30/box. covers 40 sq ft

I think some superglides or something like that would be nice for sleds.Im going to take a picture of floor after 5 years of use.

Re: Enclosed Trailer Floors

Ditto on the puck board being too slippery! I have had several friends sledding trips ending early after throwing their backs out after slipping on puck board. That is the cool thing about the super glides you have lots of traction when walking on them but the slides sure glide nicely when loading and unloading.

If anyone needs some pm us and we will get you a good deal on them.

Re: Enclosed Trailer Floors

Got a quote from a place in Airdrie to do the spray liner on the trailer floor. They quoted $900 - $1200 to do it. Trailer is scheduled to be done at the end of Sept or early Oct.

Re: Enclosed Trailer Floors

i put on a roll on box liner like you would put in your truck bed . I got it from Gregs in edmonton . It was just over a 100 bucks . 1, 5 gal can rolled half my floor and the tail gate/door.
Tough as heck with grit in it so you get lots of traction . Works perfect for the quads .Have not drove a sled on it yet but I don't think it will be a problem.

Re: Enclosed Trailer Floors

i would suggest you get a set of ski skins because the carbides will cut the h-ll out of your floor. i second the super glides on the floor traction, wet or dry, and saves cutting into floor. trailers in summer are not to much of a problem , ramp doors can be slippery, winter everything has ice on it.

Re: Enclosed Trailer Floors

I put deck and porch paint from HH on when the trailer was new...clean treated ply floor. Put the plastic ski guides on there and some traction bars on the door. 3 yrs old and holding up OK. Sleds all winter, quads all summer.

(edit: yes it's slippery...but seems to be holding up OK)

Re: Enclosed Trailer Floors

What size is your trailer and the name of the place in Airdre you got your quote from. That seems pretty reasonable. I had a couple of quotes done in Red Deer One from Line -x came in at $10.00 sq. ft. plus 250.00 for color plus tax. which comes out to 3g or better for a 28 ft enclosed. the other place was 2500.00 , and i have done all the prep work sanded the floor removed all the trim etc. I am thinking of doing a spray on liner myself for those prices. maybe try the Gater Guard II. Anyone else try these do it yourself box liner coatings, and how are they standing up.

Re: Enclosed Trailer Floors

We are going to fibreglass the floor and put our super glides on top, I am going to do a bond test to see if it will stick to the treated wood and if it doesnt we will replace the wood and get er done. I have been working with fibreglass for 25 years so it will be a snap and look incredible with a great life span as well. If anyone is interested I figure I could do a 28 foot trailer for about $1000.00. When we get ours done I will take pics and post them, see what you boys think. We are also going to incorporate an under the floor storage box with our battery and generator in it so it should be interesting as well.

Re: Enclosed Trailer Floors

Pretty hard for the average guy to get, I have alot of available material to me as the ol man still dabbles with fibreglass in his retirement, its also a little interesting to work with, if you dont know what you are doing you can make a big mess.

My sled trailer is a 2 place V Noze about 22ft in length. The place in Airdrie is called Airdrie Truck Accessories. The trailer is still not done. Looked at a few trailer floors at The Edmonton sled show on the weekend. Now I am not sure if coating the floor is a good idea or not. Maybe will just leave the wood floor and add the Superglides?
