Discuss 6 litre fuel mileage. in the GENERAL DISCUSSION FORUM forums; I get 13 mpg with my 06 6L. Doesn't seem to matter how I drive it. On a side note, ...

On a side note, does anyone else have a engine "whine" at low rpm kinnda like the power steering pump maybe? I can't figure it out. Thought it was maybe the charging system but that all checked out. Had a bad idler wheel on the AC belt, changed it, noise still there. Could it be the fan?? Doesn't really sound like the power steering pump but I flushed the fluid anyway, noise still there. truck has 105,000 km on it now.

| Re: 6 litre fuel mileage. I have never touched the coil packs, they are probably still stock ones. Wires, plugs, air filter, good oil and changing to a better oil filter after reading another thread on here. Ran a couple things of injector cleaner through it, and used seafoam this summer on it. The 10ply BFG All Terrains arent lite but are gonna stay on there. I dont know if cold air intakes on gassers make a difference but hey are over $300 so leaning towards not getting one.
