Re: 2008 F350 Diesel Fuel Mileage?

08 f350 supercab short box with 3.73 job #1. Now that i have 20000km i am now getting 18.5 mpg= 15 litres per 100k. I am driving 30km a day to work doing 100km maybe 105km. Before i got to 20000km i would only get 16mpg. I have tried fords cetane boost it makes no difference. When i pull my 21ft enclosed sled trailer i get 13mpg. There is also an update for those leaking rads it is tee fitting ask for 8c3z 8b379 b.

Re: 2008 F350 Diesel Fuel Mileage?

I haven't heard of anyone who is happy with their mileage in an '08 SD. Most I've talked to run them for work and don't pay for fuel.

I get 15 US.( 18 CDN ) mostly city in my 07 Classic Duramax. 35's, about 410 rwhp.

Best trucks for mileage seems to be '03 Cummins and duramax. Emissions controls have steadily decayed mileage since then.

You must drive like a total white man. I can baby my truck and drive nice and I have not seen better than 14 mpg and pulling my 26ft enclosed Im lucky to get 9mpg if I lock the cruise on 100 Kmh.

Leaky rad, My rad was split on the bottom seam and that was because on job 1 they didn't have enough rubber rad supports. (I was told this by the tech, but he could be wrong)

I find it funny everyone crappin' on Fords mileage when no other truck is too much better. My brother in law and friend went to penticton this year, both with 26 foot trailers and 3/4 ton trucks. One has the 2008 Ford and the other is the 2008 dodge. Power wise up hill they said they were pretty even, when they got to the pumps they said the Ford took no more than 10 litres than the Dodge, hardly anything to brag about. As for the chevy in this story, well, its still trying to climb Rogers Pass and the other two have already returned from their trip, a week ago, BUT HECK, them Chevys get good mileage though!!!

Re: 2008 F350 Diesel Fuel Mileage?

I find it funny everyone crappin' on Fords mileage when no other truck is too much better.
From what I've seen / people I've talked to, the '08's are normally a pretty poor bunch as far as economy goes. But I have heard of the odd Dodge and Chev that still can get 20 US mpg. Not any Fords that I've heard of.

Ford took no more than 10 litres than the Dodge
Over the winter that would easily pay for the fuel I burn in my sled. I wouldn't laugh at that......
