 | Re: Early snow ! Spent the day riding up around Grizzly Lodge. We rode the trail up to the ridge (gas drop) and played near here since the visibility was poor. To give an idea of the amount of snow.....no one made it out the usual trail onto the ridge! We had to backtrack up the lower angled gulley. It is hard to get an accurate snow depth with all the transporting by wind, but the boot penetration is crotch! (3 feet +) The clouds did finally break, but we were across the valley towards Lichen at this point. The day was GREAT!!!! There has been a lot of wind effect at the higher elevations but coverage was good. There was an ugly rain crust on the N side of Lichen at around 6000 feet. It was over a quarter inch thick!!! Breaks out in plates..... Observed some fracturing in the wind loaded areas....so be aware and ride safe! |

| Re: Early snow ! Hey finally got some pics for you guys to check out ... All taken yesterday ! What an incredible Blue Bird Day .... by the looks of our snow pack we now have more than last year in January ! We found some awesome untouched powder below the gas drop, carved that up then headed across the land bridge for the basin on the north side of Little Pukeashun ( first pic ) Where as you can see my sled was rely wanting to climb !! LOL In reply to white ghost. Yup Adam and Ken will be at the Lodge for the season. Hope to see ya on the mountain ! grizzlylodge.ca |

| Re: Early snow ! We are staging at Km 27.5 on the 670 as thats where the rd is plowed to. Hope to have to shortcut open ( at km 22 ) by Christmas. |

| Re: Early snow ! Team Dirt As far as I know nobody has rode right through the Grizzly Lake trail yet. Last week a group rode from the Lodge to the lake but never ventured any further. Will post here as soon as we have an update for ya. Suppose to start snowing tomorrow with lots on the way ! Should turn into some great sledding over the holidays ! |

| Re: Early snow ! Von Baron and I went into lichen on saturday... it was waist deep in some areas. heated up the cabin and cleared the path to the outhouse.Sunshine and powder was all we ran into

| Re: Early snow ! It is shaping up to be some great pre-Christmas riding! It is snowing now at Grizzly Lodge, with about 10 inches of accumulation so far. (last 2 days) It is light and fluffy! The sun is just breaking through the clouds toward Lichen... Current temp is -8, and rising.... Have a safe weekend everyone! |
