Thumbs up BDSO 2008 is in the HISTORY Books

Sorry I haven't posted here yet...internet service in Whistler was SLOWWWWWWW!!!

Ironman MIKE Irmen won the drags. He won on an IMPULSE Turbo Nytro......that sled was fuggin FAST!!! He now owns the SUMMER SUCKS supplied 2008 BDSO CHAMP jersey. Congrats Mike.

Second place went to USE2BDOO (Neil Maclaren from Ponoka) on his Alpine powered Apex......it was very close....lost by inches (maybe a foot or two)...Congrats Neil.

Their wasn't any hillclimb this year so Tim McGregor retains the belt. The snow was windblown (lots of exposed rocks) and the chutes were extremely ICY... for safety sake it was called off.

I didn't take any pics on Saturday as I was very busy judging and trying to not get HYPOTHERMIA...it was so fugging cold up top...BRRRRRRRRRRR!!! we dug a snow cave...as did the spectators below...LOL

The GLACIER was rockin with tunes and sound system supplied by RED DOG from Oregon.

Snow and Mud had their banner well placed for peeps to see and Randy (Climbmax) Swenson mentioned S&M several times over the sound system.

Their were some wicked fast sleds this year and the Yammi's were up against some very strong 2 strokes. A kid from Washington State with a M1000 with a D&D kit and Boondocker turbo (no NOS) ran strong against all types of sleds.

Brad Storey and Vern Simmons (Simmons Skis) were their running the propane powered sleds...Nytro 1200, Polaris IQ Chassis/RX1 motor and forgot what the 3rd one was but I think it was an Apex...LOL...All three were sweet looking rides and again WICKED FAST!!!

As well...as long as RIP "N" TEAR and HARDKORE are running this event I will come to it (even if I have to fly up from FLORIDA...LOL). A lot of work goes into it and we only see a little of it. These guys take a ton of personal time away from family to do this (as well their wives get actively involved and are very supportive). This year the weather and snow didn't cooperate (nor did the grooming that they arranged) but they still had a GREAT turnout and the racers seemed to be having a good time. CONGRATS to you two guys and Linc.

It was awesome to see so many peeps that I have met over the years because of the forums I belong to...I never tire of hearing peeps say when they meet me for the 1st time...your FAB... I thought you were much younger...LMPhAO!!!

Ironman Mike Irmen...again a HUGE thanks for letting me ride the NON DRAG SLED TURBO ... GOT GIGGLE FACTOR...

To my friend RIP "N" TEAR...I appreciate you letting me ride your sled on Friday...That is the nicest sled on any mountain anywhere. I know you said to take it to the handlebars but after 125 miles per hour at 1/2 throttle I knew things could get all bad and CH!T...

Lastly....because of this event $10,000.00 was donated to help keep riding area's open...2

Have a fun OFF SEASON.

OVER!!!

ps...I can't believe I didn't finish the 60 of CROWN this weekend...(didn't even put a dent in it) guess I will have to go to PONOKA to drink the rest with USE2BDOO...FAB can't Ride and now I can't DRINK either... ... LOL
