![]() | Re: Valemount 2009 Conditions A few of us went up allan today Left a very dry valemount Back lot had snow cover but minimal, the trail was actually quite good but thin for the first 3.5km then you must ride 1km of mixed rock, gravel snow up the first switches. After this the trail has approx 15cm fresh snow on top of a thin but good base Snowing hard ! Max snow depth was 70-100cm. We made it to the top hillclimb, but the weather was so bad we could not go further. Lots of drifts and gullies open still, but a decent cover. It was snowing when we left and needs it. There is decent cover on the lower trail, but expect to ride the rocky section to get to the top as the tree cover does not allow quick snow buildup on this section. All in all a good ride until we blew a chaincase at the end of the day
