Re: Propane sleds.

That was randy swenson's sled(yamaha rep).... Aka - fuji, etc...... Propane does have a higher octane rating than gasoline, but it is very dry... Can produce unreal horsepower when set-up right. I used to doo a lot of lpg installs on vehicles, and that was a very clean install. It looked great!!!!

Re: Propane sleds.

The CR rep said 2 tanks are overkill and would last day and a 1/2 for Randy and for us a week. Nothing like a turbo by your nuts and sitting on 2 tanks of explosive.

I think it is Thunderstruck 5 has Brad Storey's propane powered sled. He said that he is burning $20 a day for propane compared to $60 for the same guy using gas to keep up to him.

Re: Propane sleds.

$10k for a kit. When you consider that includes turbo and install, a normal turbo kit costs what 7k? so if you do a lot of riding you'll appreciate the fact that propane costs would be about 1/3 that of race fuel. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Now if only this made sense to my wife.

Re: Propane sleds.

I work as the service manager in a propane shop in fort st john b.c.. I have seen propane powered lawn mowers you can propane almost anything. We are doing all the newer trucks on propane with no problems and more hp. octane of 110+ my 2005 gmc 5.3l loves it. we can also use it to boost diesels
