Edson Atv Rally - July 4, 2009

Edson 7th Annual Poker Rally

When: Saturday July 4,2009

Registration: Saturday Registration 8 am - 11 am

Location: Staging area is approximately 16 kms west of Edson, turn north on range road 192 (Swanson Road), 8 kms to staging area on right hand side. Signs will be posted Sat. morning along the highway and RR192

Info: All hands must be in by 5:00pm
Prizes distributed starting at 6:00pm
Poker rally registration includes a ticket for a burger and pop after the last check point. Free hot dogs available at the third check point.


Prizes for top three poker hands
Lots of door prizes
Raffle tickets/prizes

Club memberships available, single $30, Family $40
Random Camping available at staging area and various areas along the road.
Poker rally distance approx. 50 km

Alright, got a pair of goggles to go with the helm and a full tank of gas. Oliver's carrying a small gas can on his Rincon, along with the supplies as I took the tool box off my 400 xD

Rubi, I was able to dig out my manual, thank you for offering to scan yours, I'll keep my eyes open for your rig, we're comin out early morning from Strathcona county with a light blue chev and the 2 red Hondas

wow, that was a much bigger event than i thought it'd be, was a wicked first time out. I was set back 3 hours after breaking a weld on my rear strut shortly after starting the rally >_>

found another shock assembly (that was definitely the WRONG one) and with a few washers and a brass sleeve i made it fit xD


was 2:30 by time we were back on the trail
no hot dogs, burgers or prizes for me this year, but was definitely worth the trip out
heh, and that new shock i put in is now definitely dead... time to order the right part xD

The edson rally is always a success, this is a well organized and set up rally by the Edson Atv Club. The signage was great on the trails as well. There was alot less mud this year than previous years, the trail was quite dusty. At the end of the rally as people were coming into the main area and the faces were quite dusty, alot of sore eyes.
I think there was more riders this year, there was sure alot that hung around for the prizes whick there were alot of. Here are a few pictures.

Rally was prety good for the most part. Too bad there was so much dust I think it would be 100 times better if we would get some rain .... My Eyes finaly recovered... Also was nice to meet yeah Rknight

Looks like fun was had by all. My wife are really trying to get into these events to meet more people that enjoy the outdoors. Hopng tp get to the brazeau rally in sept

Well got back from the rally area today at 5:15 pm. Since I volunteered yesterday we did the most of the trail in reverse today, the dog was mighty unhappy with not being able to ride on saturday, wanted to follow hubby down trail after 1st checkpoint. At one skeg hole we saw fresh bear tracks from overnight.
REDBOY400 glad you had fun and sorry we did not meet up.
We got about 10 raindrops overnight, it needs to rain for a few days everywhere and stop this friday morning so that the Outwest weekend is not dusty.

hey rknight111, I am quite pleased to see my kiddo and hubby in your fourth pic you posted. She's the one with the green and white helmet on the suzuki and her dad is the one on the can am. They both had a blast and I'm kickin myself for not getting the day off work to go too.
