Edson Atv Rally - July 4, 2009

Edson 7th Annual Poker Rally

When: Saturday July 4,2009

Registration: Saturday Registration 8 am - 11 am

Location: Staging area is approximately 16 kms west of Edson, turn north on range road 192 (Swanson Road), 8 kms to staging area on right hand side. Signs will be posted Sat. morning along the highway and RR192

Info: All hands must be in by 5:00pm
Prizes distributed starting at 6:00pm
Poker rally registration includes a ticket for a burger and pop after the last check point. Free hot dogs available at the third check point.


Prizes for top three poker hands
Lots of door prizes
Raffle tickets/prizes

Club memberships available, single $30, Family $40
Random Camping available at staging area and various areas along the road.
Poker rally distance approx. 50 km

Alright, great. I dont have anything against helmets, just never really got around to picking one up :/ I'm in Edmonton, probably best place to pick one up would be... Riverside Honda? Or anyone deal with Powerhouse on Whyte?

wasn't there like a free hand at one of the rally's if you had a helmet or a special Draw you could win. I remember winning a couple prizes @ the edson rally 2 years back i think it was.

Yes you get a draw ticket for wearing a helmet for a chance to win something at the end of the day.

Allllrighty, just picked up a new helm from Scona Cycle today. $205 not bad for some shiny new melon insurance xD

In the past, I handed out raffle tickets for a chainsaw for those wearing helmets. If you were not wearing a helmet you had no chance at the chainsaw. This year I am going to propose a significant change to our encourgement for wearing helmets.

Oh nice. This will be the first atv event I've ever been to... aside from "ATV paintball" hosted on a friend's ranch in strathcona county... which mainly just consisted of a few friends with paintball guns who were tired of running after one another >_>


Any clue as to the new encouragement offered? Or is that one a surprise?

Glad to hear you have brains and got a helmet. Congrats. Now go spread the word.
We will be camping at the rally, you can probably join us on the ride itself on Saturday if you have no one to go with.
I see from your profile that you are an apprentice mechanic, you and my hubby can talk shop then, he is a Journeyman.

can't legislate common sense i know,but why has a mandatory helmet law been put in place already?? "its too hot or uncomfortable" just don't slice it! bonus draw last year was a great idea by the way, i just wish that this issue was a non factor,we seem to have enough bad pub without something as "no brainer"(pun intended)as this. cant wait till next weekend!!
