Edson ATV Club 2008 Poker Rally - July 5,2008

Edson 6th Annual Poker Rally

When: Saturday July 5,2008
Sunday July 6, 2008 (Geocache with prizes)

Registration: Friday Pre-registration 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Saturday Registration 8 am - 11 am

Location: Staging area is approximately 16 kms west of Edson, turn right on range road 192 (Swanson Road), 8 kms to staging area on right hand side. Signs will be posted along the highway and RR192

Info: All hands must be in by 5pm
Price: $15 registration and 1st hand, $5 for each extra hand, One free hand for club members.
Sunday geocache registration $TBA

Poker rally registration includes a ticket for a burger and pop after the last check point. Hot dogs available at the third check point.


Prizes for top three poker hands
Prizes by draw for those completing geocache
Lots of door prizes
Raffle tickets/prizes
Extra prizes for club members

Club memberships available, single $30, Family $40 (includes insurance)
Random Camping available at staging area and various areas along the road.
Poker rally distance approx. 50 km

Just got done washing everything up..............had a great time as well. Signage was done very well, food was plenty and a sea of orange volunteers. Great job Edson! I'll bring more people next year! Good talking to you Sledderglen. See you at the next event!

Well I have NO pictures, No, insurance papers, left them in the city on my truck seat. Started the rally and NEW quad of 9 hours was overheating, then Water pump broke, Had to get a tow to first stop. Leave NEW quad , hitch a ride, and ya.......................That sucked. But still had a good day and the rally was well planned and put. Thanks guys it was great. Won a outlaw hoodie.

Great pics Ron. You are the official photo guy. Who was the guy sleeping on the quad. I have to remember to never catch a few winks when cameras are around. DL nice finger. Was good to see Catmandoos Dad there after his stroke this Spring in such good shape and then for him to win oldest rider. The trails were well layed out not to much deep ruts but still some challenging stuff to make us work. Ron remember 4x4 not 2x4 when going into the uguly stuff.. Is it normal for a Polaris to push a Can-Am with a stiff rope? Maybe DL can answer that

Next year will be bigger and better!

Some facts:

We had 522 registered riders with 454 wearing helmets when they passed me. No injuries were reported. Cash prizes came from the registration fees; all other prizes (including the first place Yamaha) and food/drinks were donated. Four people planned most of the event; approx. 30 people volunteered their time to make the day happen. The first volunteer to set up their camper arrived 9 days before the event; Camping at the staging area was filled by 5:00PM on Friday. All net profits will be spent on trail maintenance.

WE HAVE BEEN TO ALOT OF RALLYS AND I MUST SAY THIS ONE WAS ONE OF THE BEST,VOLUNTEERS DID A HECK OF A JOB, THE WEATHER COOPERATED,SEEN FISH COPS THERE BUT THEY NEVER HASSELD ANYONE THAT I SAW,OVERALL...EXELLENT JOB GUYS!!CANT WAIT FOR NEXT YEAR.
