Overkill you made the phone call and found out from the horse what to do. ![]()

![]() | Re: 800 rev aftermarket head the deal with most aftermarket heads is in the dome design. the stock head with a wide 19.8mm squish band will work well in a rich condition, making the customer of the sled feel like there sled is running ok in most conditions. the problem with stock heads is the inconsistant squish depth, one side will be .050" and the other side will be .060" on the same hole, so some of the rebuilds we'll shave the head a bit then re work the squish so its the same or consistant for both cyls. but were not looking for power gains with this. just fixing a damage head and keeping the rebuild costs down for a client. the aftermarket heads usually have a narrower squish band (10-14mm) to lessen the chance of detonation and will make max power with the proper air/ fuel ratio. or more power then the stock head. then theres different squish angles, squish depths, squish band widths, different radius bowls, some for lake racing back east and some for higher elevation mtn riding applications such as what we build. theres also different dome designs for different pipe applications. aftermarket heads will work better with higher comp motors , porting or having pipes.
