So How are the rekluse clutches? Sounds like they are the **** but I have never tried one before. Are the exp 3.0 worth the extra bucks over the exp or the cheaper one? What are you guys running?

Hey, great bike! I picked up a 2010 XC-W In August that needed a LOT of lovin. I lowered it a bit with a Z-Link, Put a softer seat on, lighting kit, bigger tank etc... I've been riding KTM since 1990 and love the 200/250/300 2 strokes. Lets see some pics!

nice bike... im thinking of drinking the orange kool aid too... because i want to get back on a 2smoker with traction... just easier for me... still love my 4 strokes... do you have any before pics? sure wish i new how to tear a bike down... you guys that do are so far ahead of the game... im stuck buying new...

I sold my 09 200 for a good $$ and found this 10 that had only 25 hrs on it but was trashed down a mountain. Lots of bent stuff but the big $$ stuff was still good, frame/wheels forks, swingarm, etc, so I got it for $4100.00 and I just put all my goodies on it over the next few weeks. I like the plastic on these ones better than the new style...but the KTM/Husky is nice...

So the $400 rekluse would be worth buying? The bike is ready to come home. I'll be picking it up today after work. Looking forward to getting it home and start setting it up and going through it. I almost enjoy doing that as much as riding now that I am set up at home to do so.

Got the bike home last night and went through it a little bit. Gotta take the sled of the lift and the bike on it. The starter crank for a second or two then stop like it is getting bound up. Found a good deal on a new 410w starter on e bay. Half the cost of canadian pricing and the shipping is in there too. I will get it ripped apart maybe tonight to inspect. I think something is just starting to seize up. Lots of videos on it including the "wet" version. I have to check out the kick starter too. The return spring is weak. I got a headlight and number plate for the front. The headlight doesn't work. Well the small bulb works but the main bulb doesn't. Went through it a bit and even though the bulb doesn't look burnt I applied 12 volts direct and it doesn't light up. I might just run the number plate until I can afford to do the led upgrade, we will see. I might get a new set up plastics for it too. Got some extras but shiny is nice too.

What are you guys using for premix? Also what in the gear case? I have to get used to using premix again. It has been about 10-12 years since I had my RMX 250.

For my '12 KTM recommends 60:1 which sounds scary but nobody seems to be having issues with a lean mix. I run 50:1 FWIW using up a couple jugs of Blue Marble I had. For my tranny IIRC they want 15-50 motor oil so that's what I been using but I don't think it's super critical as far what viscosity motor oil you run in the trans.

I was thinking of doing the 50:1 too. They say 60:1 is ok with a quality oil but wow that is thin. Might head into riverside after work and have a look

Id love to get a KTM 500EXC, but holy freaking cow are they expensive. 11k for a dirtbike is insane. Especially when you can get a brand new rmz 450 for 6k. Too bad you cant make them street legal though.

you can make them street legal. Easily.

Really? I thought there was another thread about this saying that if they didnt have the correct serial number they couldnt be registered no matter what?

My brother rides a 2012 500 exc on the pavement. Never heard anything about a serial number. Gateway sales in Rocky has one on there showroom floor right now with the kit installed. You are limited with what tires you can use but as long as she has mirrors, horn, signals, tail light.... Your golden. Lots of them running around here on the roads.
