Beavermines is south by Pincher Creek toward Castle ski hill. You can ride from there to the northwest and get all the way back to Atlas / plane crash area.

It's very scenic because of the big fire that went through a few years ago and cleared all the trees lol. Mostly faster double track like in the pic but if you go back toward York there is more technical single track

Well I found a bike today. Should be picking it up tomorrow or wednesday. It is a 2008 250 xcw. Needs some cleaning up and prep to get it ready for the up coming season but should do the job well I think. Looking at parts and what not it looks like I chose a decent year for them. All the parts seem to run 08-13 so I can put updated parts on it easy enough.

Not sure yet. I believe the starter needs work. There was an update to the 13's that will bolt in that I will probably buy once I know for sure the connections are good. I will probably get new plastic to clean it up too. But I have to get the bike home and on the lift and really go through it.

There's step by step instructions on ktmtalk.com on how to re-do your e-start, and lots of other stuff

Hey, great bike! I picked up a 2010 XC-W In August that needed a LOT of lovin. I lowered it a bit with a Z-Link, Put a softer seat on, lighting kit, bigger tank etc... I've been riding KTM since 1990 and love the 200/250/300 2 strokes. Lets see some pics!

I post a couple pics when I get it home. I had to send a message to ktm talk as they don't like my "free" email address to join. I saw some fixes with the shims and what not. The guy said he has tried to fix it a couple times and that it should only be used to restart the bike, not to start it first thing in the day. I don't believe that. I will be using it all the time unless the battery goes dead.

The starter will still crank when the bike is cold though but it starts quick when its warm?
That was happening to mine when the valves got out a bit

The 410w starter is supposed to help with that by the sounds if it. Bike won't be ready to bring home tonight he says. Better be tomorrow. I don't like waiting lol.

Mine will BARELY start it when cold. It just doesn't crank fast enough and drains the bat. No big deal. 2 kicks and it's running and use the starter for the rest of the day(unless you've drained the bat). One guy I know said right from new, full charge on the battery it wouldn't start it. Now he has a larger capacity lithium and same thing still. Maybe that other starter is the answer but in reality unless your missing your right leg, it's not a huge issue...or is it...?. Lol. The stupid black gas tank pi$$ed me off the most.

If it is a two stroke it is easy enough to start. But I would sooner like it working like a normal e start. And if I can get it to work like one I eill
