The Rocky Mountain Dirt Riders forum, and facebook is a good resource for riding locations and finding riding partners. Its also good to become a member and have a united voice to aid in keeping our riding areas open.

The riding has been surprising good for the start of the season. Once you are up out of the valleys its decently dry but still some snow at higher up elevations.

If your ever on or coming to the island, bring your bike,we have now a official riding area,I've ridden there for years but now it's legal I guess, good combination of tight hilly single track, they have widened out afew for alittle more speed and burmed corners, there's even a Motocross type section.I was out yesterday for a quick couple hour ride and snapped a few pictures, sorry I was alone so no action shots.

Looks like some great terrain to ride. You actually have dirt on your trail instead of the abundance of rock we ride in S.Alberta

Long Island lake north of westlock has some nice single track!

Anybody been up here lately? Last time I rode at Long Island Lake ( probably 5 years ago ) it was getting pretty taken over by quads. Also I've heard of lots of truck getting broken into there since Larry has past on, anyone else hear of that too?

I don't know if the weather will hold long enough to try it this year, but looking for new places to ride next year

So again it looks like I was the last to post here but lets try and get it up and running again. Question on Long Island Lake area I tried riding there last summer I just had my 10 year old son with me we tried going in from the north end as we were camped at long lake. ( great campground btw ) We didn't go to far in as it was raining a bit and he was stuggeling with it being pretty slick on the clay and all the deep mud holes. I poked around a bit myself but didn't find any single track stuff, I know there is access on the south end also. Just wondering when was the last time anybody actually rode the single track out there? I know the Kusters used to hold races out there and I'm just wondering if those are the trails that are being talked about and they are just grown over.

Trev, I hope you bring the bikes to Sic when you come this summer. That is if things cool down and you are still able to make it.

I know it's a ways away but its actually not to horrible of a drive. I highly recommend San Felipe MX if you’re up for a road trip. You can hit the Baja track. I was there during the Score 250. If you stay at Pete’s Camp you can camp on the beach, full restaurant / bar and rip the sand when the tide is out.
