Was at Castle Mountain sunday Nov 20th, Snow at the staging area, light with some half frozen puddles on the trail. Creeks still fully open even up to 4-5000 feet. Access to areas limited due to lack of snow and heavy winds driving it off western faces. Snow conditions below, skinny, wetter snow, deeper in some places with no base. Forgot to probe it, sorry. Alot of ice fog and high level clouds blowing in and out reducing visibility to near zero at times. Needs a helluva dump, some of the main accesses are still flowing buckets of water.

Going to check out Castle on Saturday, will report back.

The way our new government is screwing up riding areas down South I would like to ride there before its all closed down.

Best staging area??

It was pretty good! Creeks are mostly covered, 1 more good storm and it'll be game on. The trail is in amazingly good shape so far, Buddy I was riding with hit a stump and broke an a-arm at noon so it was time for caesars at the T-bar pub a little earlier than expected. Staging area is a big well-marked parking lot on the left side of the road just as you arrive at the ski hill.

Quick question, so I understand your comment better......how is the trail in amazingly good shape so far - if your buddy hit a stump and broke an a-arm?

Well the 'Trail' heading south of Castle Mountain is usually super rough, it never gets groomed. The stump hit happened in one of the off-trail play areas. There are no stumps on the trail lol. I guess I could have punctuated it differently to be more clear.

Castle is tracked up pretty much everywhere. We made sure of it. The trail is horrible already. huge moguls from the parking lot to the gate before the pass.
