Got 1100 miles on my 2014 summit sport 800 (carb) and its prob time to do a full service on the clutches so I'm thinking of doing a clutch kit while I have it apart. Sled is pretty much stock with an mbrp can. I'm trying to keep the cost within a reasonable amount and will be doing all the work myself.

I've looked at the rooster built and DJ (ibackshift) kits available and think I should go with one of the two.

I only ride in the mountains and I'm 225 lbs plus gear. Don't do a lot of highmarking, mainly tree riding and creeks. I have a tendency to slow down to pick my lines and 50% of the time I end up trenching. (I've already adjusted the limiter to lower the attack angle to get up on top of the snow). I'm not worried about losing top speed on the trail.

Anyone have any ideas of the setup I should go with? Do I put in a DJ with his ramps (to replace my 441's)? Do I change out the stock 19/49 gearing. Go with a rooster? Leave the stock ramps?

lots of opinions out there. I personally liked the DJ kit I ran on my xp. Give Joey a call and let him know the sled (track length and lug height), the area you ride and your weight. He will get you where you want to be and is Canadian so you won't take a bath on the exchange rates. I ran 20/45 gearing on my 154 2.5.

Pulled the primary clutch off last night as I decided to drop it off with Rob at Specialty Motirsports in Spruce Grove for his clutch kit. Just need to do a spring swap on the secondary at home.

Does he change the ramps, I went from 441's to DJ ramps and it was a big difference. You need a special tool or can get creative to split the secondary but it's pretty straight forward.

Yes he is changing the ramps. He's also going over all the clutch parts while its apart. Checking balance, and cleaning the faces up. I'm in the middle of making the secondary tool right now.
