Data amounts

At verizon when you buy a smartphone they required a 2GB a month data plan also. It use to be $30 for unlimited data before smartphones became so popular, but now its $30 a month for a 2GB plan! They said i would never go over 2 GB. Ive never had an issue with it till now when im in the field and i dont use my wifi since im not home much. I havent gone over but have been monitoring it and if i stay on pace of what ive been doing, ill go over. So im curious how much data you people use a month on your phone and at what price?

Currently im running a 1gig plan and have come close to going over a few times, and i use wifi a lot. I'm thinking of upgrading to telus's 6gig promo plan with my new phone. It runs $75 a month, but that includes unlimited pic and text messaging, my fav 10, early evenings and weekends, 200 prime time minutes and a few other things.

Bell has the same plan but it is only $60 a month, that's what the wife and I both have and have never come close to going over.

I should clear myself up.....the $30 is just the data side. You still have unlimited talk and text and some shared minutes. We are all together under one bill (mom, dad, and younger brother and i) since its cheaper to add another line for $10 vs. $50 for an individual line. Yet we still split the bill accordingly.
