I used two different Wilson boosters for a work out by Robb a few years back and here's my opinion. You definitely get what you pay for, the smaller, less costly version I used first did a so-so job. Signal strength was hit and miss with it. The next one I used was a more powerful version and it worked great. I never had an issue with it for service and it made life a lot easier out in the field.

With that said, Wilson makes a wide variety of boosters for home and auto use. Check them out Cell Phone Signal Booster Kits for Home and Office

I bought a Wilson last year and not very happy with it TBH. The one I have is called "Sleek 4G-C". Paid US$200 for it.

These work great but pricey.

1st of all, find out what frequency your cell provider works with and ensure the booster you buy picks up the frequency your provider supports.....VERY IMPORTANT...talk/text/data (4G) could be probably are on different frequencies.....do you want to boost all of them or just the talk frequency?.....know what you want before you buy.

Many booster are dual band meaning it could be hit & miss for what you want. Some of the newer booster support 5 band....I believe the 5-band covers all the Canadian/US cell phone providers

2nd....if you are going to use an outside antenna, be sure it is also matches the frequency you need.

Telus Frequencies
3G 850/1900 MHz (CDMA)
4G LTE 1700/2100 MHz - Band 4

Rogers Frequencies
3G 850/1900 MHz (GSM)
4G LTE 700 MHz - Band 17
1700/2100 MHz - Band 4

Bell Frequencies
3G 850/1900 MHz (CDMA)
4G LTE 700 MHz - Band 17
1700/2100 MHz - Band 4

Fido Frequencies
3G 850/1900 MHz (GSM)
4G LTE 700 MHz - Band 17
1700/2100 MHz - Band 4

Wind Frequencies
3G 1700/2100 MHz (GSM)
4G LTE 1700/2100 MHz (AWS)

maybe this is the reason my Wilson booster doesn't really perform the way I thought it would. I bought a Wilson 4G-C but I have to admit not happy at all with it so it sits in my glove box.

My 8 y/o Wilson has always worked well for me.
Buddy burned up two though before he got a good one. Antenna wattage seems to make a difference too. I have a 7w and he has a 15 and I run out of service before he does.

Im very interested in one of these. I miss and drop customers calls often while sitting in my Office (I live in the SE side of Airdrie) I have complained piles of times and they do nothing about it. From what I am hearing Airdrie is well knows for the crap signal. Seems also they all share the same towers as I have tried other providers and same thing....
So if I get a booster for Telus would I need an outside antenna??

Best reception is as high outside as you can get with the antenna but I have put it in my window for a marked improvement in my shack on lease before.

Wilson and Weboost are the same company, they just changed their name to Weboost in the last year. Keep your eyes out on Kijiji for cell boosters. I just picked up a brand new Weboost 4G-M for $300, regular in store price is about $499. I phoned all over Edmonton and Calgary recently trying to get the best price on this particular unit. Most places are selling it for around $500. Also the Weboost technical support staff are very helpful with pre-purchase question you might have.

I'm at hwy 22/53 at 3am on line with Bell Mobillity and 8 year old Wilson that has been spot on all Across North America Can/USA.

Odd blue moon days I tape antena to stick and raise it up 16 to 22' for even better reception.
Trick is to not over-heat booster, and have E-tech pals run check-ups on it when it's not performing.

Knock on plastic as mines been good so far. Find the worst cell phone/ data area you can for testing before buying that unit as it takes 2 or 4 to pick out the best unit.

Pal Lem. Thanks for heads up on frequancy idea !!!
