This was a trip last Saturday, normal day of boating/running channels boat full of fuel and loaded for everyday river running. Most of the time RPM at about 3000 or higher. The trip was from Fort Assiniboine to blueridge bridge. You do the math.

fill and burn... fill again, smile, repeat!

That's a fun stretch of river. "9 mile island" brings back memories. Did you launch at the marina?

5.43 USGal/hr Which is very impressive.

Or another way 68L/100km which really ain't so hot.

But does the moving time also continue counting if the boat is floating with the engine off?

According to KEM's own specs at 3000rpm the L87 gets about 9 Gal/hr at 3000rpm with a 3.4 impeller. Which is a huge difference.

That's crazy. We did a 144km round trip last weekend in the mini. I put in 65 liters, which works out to 4.9 gph. Which is worse than the 4-4.5 that I normally get, but I was pushing pretty hard on the way home, because the misses was cold. The supercharger screamed the whole way home.

I'd like a big V8 boat, but I can't beat the cost to operate this thing. You gotta start early and really want to get somewhere to burn more than $100 of gas in a day.

What do you have for a mini?
I see they are starting to put rotax in boats upwards of 18' feet now

13' Brattjet with a 215, I guess it would be the Menace but I bought mine before they called them anything.

They definitely are, particularly now that they can be bought by builders as a complete package without having to buy a seadoo.

I think the next boat I want is a 16' Firefish Piranha with a 250 or 300 Rotax in it. But I need to try and find some fuel burn numbers, I'm scared that when these new 1603 rotax motors start working they get thirsty like my 215 does. For example my 215 burns about 20 gph at WOT to make 215 hp. The 6.2 L86 is supposed to burn 30gph at WOT but making about 375hp by comparison.

My 12’6” menace with the 250 S/C Kawasaki burns about the same 20 gph. At wide open throttle it is more! Great fuel consumption rate on your boat Chrisco.

The trapper isn't quite what I want. I want a traditional window boat just on the smaller side. Nothing against Brattjet I love my mini, but the Piranha has been around for a while and is a tough proven design. I was actually talking about it with Steve today, if I decide to pull the trigger on a boat for spring it'll be a 16.5' Piranha with a 250 Rotax powerplant. I figure I'll get very similar performance to the Ecoboost powered Convict in a lighter more cost effective package. So far I've been impressed with the rotax powertrain I already have, and I like that I can pretty much replace the entire pump for the same cost as a new impeller and wear ring on the 212.

Look like Redline is building Bratt trappers.

Here is one with a windshield.
Full length 1/2" keel....

If I was a betting man I would say that a 16.5 Piranha hull weighs more than a 17 foot Convict hull. In my experience once you own a 212 you will never have to buy another impeller again, 400.00 bucks exchange program to rebuild. I honestly don't think the performance would be the same as a Convict with a Eco 212.
