So after having a previous boat with a V8 and having friends with sport jets I always promised my self I would never consider a dinky two stroke for a river boat. However after doing some research and youtubing the 1775 extreme duty has greatly peaked my interest.

Anyone have one? Been in one or experience with one? I'm hearing folks are getting 2000+ hrs on the 200s, can this be true? Most of the guys in know had 240s or 175s and they didn't impress me, but I had V8 power.

Thoughts.......

I have both and they are both great but both different.
The 1775 is a great boat . IMO it works better then most .
IMO again the 200 SJ is trying to push way to big / heavy a boat most time’s and people are under impressed .
Keep the SJ hull light and only pack light . Keep pump in good shape and they work great .
If you want to pack lots of weight and bring lots of people ? Stick with the bigger boat .
When asking people’s opinions make sure you ask what they have owned and the hours they have boated and the areas they boat ?
Best to go out with a few different models and groups .
Mine is a 15 ft built strong and not to heavy .

I was the same way, I thought less than 80 was no fun... a good friend got an older E5 with a 240 and besides the SJ typical headaches that the 200 is probably less prone to... Its a blast everytime its out, and surprises us every time. Now I think about them, a lot lol. where's Neil? he should chime in

1775 owner here. I heard 1500hrs is pretty normal for a 200sj when taken care of. The boat doesn’t have v8 power and definitely could use more. Good for 2 people which is good for me and my wife. The boat is crazy tough and goes in spots where boats shouldn’t be going. I will post some videos

The mrs didn't care much for the big water, especially when stuck in the middle of it lol. My big concern is will it pack 2 adults and 3 young kids? What is the payload capacity I guess? The V8 was a tank.

Had four adults in my boat before. Still worked good but you do notice the extra weight. But my boat is loaded up good. Heater, big stereo, beer, fishing gear, hip waders, bbq so I could loose lots of weight but like to be comfortable when I am out there. If you are looking for one get a Kingfisher over a Harbourcraft. The kingfisher has the exhaust under the swim deck that makes it quieter, larger fuel tank (still is to small) and is a bit longer of a boat. I think they switched in 2012. Mines a 2013 and is a kingfisher. If around Edmonton in the spring I can take you for a spin!

My thoughts are still the same, they are all good till they blow up lol, and its just a matter of time. I like the king fisher boat for what it is they get around good in the shallow and are tough enough to take a good hit. I just hope Neils motor blows up so he can put a real engine in that Extreme duty of his.

Going from a V8 with a real pump to a SJ with a seedoo pump for 1 season was horrific in many ways but I did my best to try and like it, but it didnt happen lol they are just that gay. Fk'n sports jets are so gay they stopped maken them thank god. The eco is so much nicer with waaaay more power and quiet.

Thanks Neil for bring up all that pain again.... its like a bad X.

If mine blows up towards the end of a season then it will get a 4.3DI and 309 pump over the winter. Blows up early or mid season probably just put a long block in and run her

I believe that the 250 SJ were more problematic then the 200's.
I think that Chrisco's boat runs in the skinny right along with SJ's and his new build should even be better.
