Has anyone been on the Red Deer River lately? It is looking a bit low, from Red Deer towards the dam.

I haven’t been on it lately. But it’s a pretty easy run. Close to the dam it gets pretty shallow and has some big rocks. From red deer you should be ok to run it. If you’re on Facebook look up CARBA that the river boat club there and they can tell you what the river is like.

Nsr is a better all around river imo. It’s not worth the drive to red deer to go on the river. Upper red deer is supposed to be skinny. I would like to try it

Went from Saunders to dam on nsr a couple weeks ago, was a great trip. From trunk road to dam was great. Trunk road to Saunders a bit rough lots of white water but still fun.

Thanks for the info guys. Never ran the NSR. Could be a challenge with endless channels and not so much of a shallow water boat. Better bring my winch. Lol

I have a 21 1/2' northriver commander with a 6.0 litre and hamilton pump. no bottom protection only the graphite paint. Not really made for the skinny rivers. Like the Bratt, Eagles and firefish.

I think you need a 19 foot Firefish with a 6.2 DI and a 212 ??
