I have a couple buddy’s with outlaws. They both carry spare starters and alternators. And they have used them.

yup, once spent the las 3 days of a 5 day boat trip staring mine with a screwdriver jumping it across the solenoid terminals haha. whatever it takes!

if DCB made jets! I think the whole package with a stern drive is 200k but who needs a drive? pumps are cheap!

Full pin. Man I can’t wait to hit the river. I was talking to a buddy in revy. He was on the Columbia yesterday. Water is very low. We in for an early fire season again?

Small thing but it has been handy , Benadryl and other allergy pills. Never know when a kid or a dog is going to go chew On a bee and get stung. Nothing like being 6 hours down river and having somebody have a reaction!!! Happened to my dog. His tongue swelled up really quick

I’m wondering if anyone has a suggestion for the charger/booster packs? I know it was discussed in a sled thread. I’m thinking one might come in handy? One of those compact little guys.

I know that lots of people like the lithium booster packs. I've never used one, but I'm also not confident they are enough to roll over a V8 with a dead battery, especially considering the extra load put on the starter by the pump rotating with the engine.

So to change the subject a little I like the idea of running dual batteries with a selector switch/isolator. That way you can use one battery to play the stereo, lights, diesel heater etc while stopped and still have a second you can select to start the engine with if the first battery is dead.

If properly setup the isolator will ensure both batteries are being charged when the engine is running regardless if only one is selected. Meaning both stay charged.

How many people would actually ensure their booster pack was charged regularly for use in an emergency? 2 batteries seems more useful, and more foolproof.

Two batteries are a must imo. I run both for a bit to make sure they are both fully charged then just switch to one so I know the other is there just in case. But I still want one of those booster packs.

Dual blue Optimas in my Sport with a Cole Hersee isolator.
