Right now you won't have any issues! Water is high and with this storm that's rolling through it will only get higher. From Devon to the city it's pretty easy going not much in the way of skinny water. Once you get to the east side of the city it gets a bit more shallow and more sand bars. But still not much that's keeping an eye out for won't take care of. It's neat to see the city but it's not that exciting. If you go on a hot sunny weekend the canoeists and tubers can get in your way lots lol

Thank you. Would like to take the girlfriend and the boy up for a ride and don't want them to get a real close look at the windshield from the inside. Would not be a good first river trip for them. However far to the west can you go from Devon?
thanks in advance.

Select North Sask and River Flow levels. Find your area and chose figure. Currently the NSR in Edmonton is flowing at about 680m3/s which is about double the flow from what is considered normal. Near imposible to anchor up and pack extra fuel if you plan to battle that current any distance. That web site also has a link to an app for alberta rivers, might be useful as it sends notifications to rising water levels. Hope it helps when you get closer to your date with the river.

Big horn dam! Pretty easy both ways if you can read the river at all. Not sure what kind of boat you got. But I got a 12 deg bottom and there's not one spot that really is to bad. I see lots of guys with props go on the river.

Thanks guys for all the info. The boat is a 21.5 north river commander x, 12 degree with a marine power 6.0 litre and a 70 gal fuel tank. Have had no issues with fuel yet.

I guess the goofy river levels are the reason why I am not seeing any posts about poker runs? I seen the GP one was postponed via their Facebook page.

Drove over the river and it's high, real high right now. Glad I didn't try going fishing on it this weekend. Makes for a fun time exploring some channels now. Not as nerve racking!

Can a person launch at Fort Saskatchewan? I saw that they had a boat launch there?

With a bigger boat like yours it would be harder. You will need a 4x4. Now with high water you will be good! Gibbons Motorsports launch there all the time.

That's the best launch going. I've allready used it 4 times this year. Have a small current break so the current isnt pushing the boat around to bad when loading.
