So, took the afternoon off and went boating on the Shuswap yesterday. We launched in Sicamous. What a &hit show. For the life of me I don't understand how people are allowed to tow a boat and trailer but cant back up the damn thing. I had to get into one person's truck and back his trailer down the ramp otherwise I would still be there waiting to launch myself. In addition to this, not sure why people cant read signs but when it is clearly posted "only vehicles with trailers can park beyond this point" why on earth do single cars park there. Not to point fingers, but out of 6 cars illegally parked in the zone, all had AB plates. I am sure BC drivers are guilty too but come on people pretty hard to find parking for a truck and trailer as it is. End of my rant

1) roar into the launch area and park in the middle of it so no one can get in or out
2) proceed to load coolers etc into boat and remove straps
3) yell at guy you blocked in cause he is still stuck in the launch area
4) rev truck and let other guy out
5) back down ramp have all 9 of your buddies with you help launch your boat
6) hammer throttle up the launch and park truck and trailer diagonally across 6 boat trailer spots
7) stage boat on dock where it's totally in the way for anyone else launching and take 20 minutes to load your buds in it because selfies
8) pound tunes loud enough for the whole lake to hear as your roar off and proceed to surf 500m from the launch

at least this is how it goes at the Canoe launch

Some launches are bad. You should see the Devon river boat launch some days. The made nice places for truck and trailer parking but the cars park in them before the other spots.

I know life is full of issues and not supposed to sweat the small stuff but that is just frustrating to me for some reason. Maybe because the idea of going for a boat ride is supposed to be enjoyable but these inconsiderate a-holes ruin it if you are driving around in circles looking for a parking spot.

or be like this dick bag who parks in the only turnaround on a dead end street thinking he's dooin the world a favor parking out of the way. Always somebody parked in the only turnaround at the Kappel St launch too.

I was out on the Koocanusa the other day and was amazed how many small cars were parked in the stalls made for truck and boat trailers, even had a large camping trailer in one of the stalls

yup and while we are at it if you see a boat floating in the middle of the lake with occupants enjoying the sun don't go mach ten 25 ft away from them when you have the whole lake to go by. I don't understand why people find it necessary to do that. Happened several times yesterday while floating close to the floating stores.

A little off topic, but if you drive around in your sweet wake boat all day making a giant wave and aren't surfing, etc... you also fall under the title "dick bag". Amazing how many doo exactly that.

This is a pain in the ass. Also if we're just floating don't spin circles with your kids and tubes right beside us for 20 minutes please, it's a big lake.
