Zac's tracks has discounts for course participants and as I noticed throughout my travels on this marvellous site that you are taking the course in Red Deer this month, correct? Buy it from her as it will save you a few buckeroo's.

Great choice by the way but I'm a little partial now....if you know what I mean:d:d:d

range is very important, and this beacon sends you to the closest signal received. the others show funny little stick men all over, looks confusing. you may as well find the closest and then the next instead of trying to fiqure out what the little stick men are doing.
my opinion of course. you may like looking at funny little stick men.

friggin stick men.

not intending to crap on your parade, the beacons all send the same signal, analog and digital, unless you have a really old one. it would be better to buy your buddy a better beacon, if you value your life. maybe i should get buds to buy the new beacon?

Pieps has a new one coming out. Already have my dsp coming because I didnt want to wait but the new one looks good. Has a gps built in so it will display your location on the face and has a larger zone.

Pieps Freeride was my choice a few years back. Once you get used to any one they are easy to use. My motto is be sure and have one; can't find you if we can't figure out where you are.
It is lightweight and slim, comfortable harness and very good on battery use.

in all reality i still like the sos i was using, still works better in single searches. and to the nay sayers, i've tried just about everyone out there.

getting used to the new element beacon, works good, nice feature if you go past your target the direction arrow reverses and points back to target, you can also use the numbers as an indicator.

So
Hey I always wondered if a hand held radio or cell
phone that was keeped to close to a beacon ,in let's say
A pocket on your chest some where Close to it,
would cause interference with beacon signal ??
Or for one that is searching for one ???
Dose any one know anything about this??
