Bunch of buddies and myself are out in Valemount for the weekend. Hit up a few trials and a good mountain climb today. But really itching for some mud. Anyone have any suggestions?

There's lots of neat trails up there but this definately isn't a place to go bogging. If fact, I beleive bogging at that elevation is against the law in BC.

Don't get me wrong, I love to bog, but there's plenty of places close to here where it's a ittle less offensive and destructive.

If you're looking for mud then when you leave your home town, head EAST until you cross into the next province. Don't come here and get more of our trails shut down

This sounds good I really hate mud and getting wet and winching now. Spent most of my life fighting through mud and muskeg and just need some high elevation and hard ground and others that don't need to spin the ground out from under them. Anyone in the Valemount area that can give me some local information on trails and campsites friendly to ATV's would be welcome.

You need to talk to Curtis with VARDA. He is on this board too as depsnolover. Not sure if I spelled it correctly. He knows alot about the area.

Was just up in Vale for 3 days. We stayed at the Canoe river campsite. Honestly just head East on highway 5 towards Westridge, or West towards Canoe Mountain. Whenever you see a trail just run up it, sometimes it ends quick, other times you will ride 30-40 km into the back country. I'd also suggest heading towards the lake there as well, lots of trails and scenery.

Anyways we basically just wandered around on random trails for 3 days and had an absolute blast. I also have been told Clemina is the one sledding area that you can quad to in the summer. Never did that trip, but I'd like to next time for sure.

Just went through Valemount and there was a group of ATVers ripping up the mud in the ditch of the highway. Come on people this needs to stop. BC is a great place to explore and lets keep it that way. No ripping in the mud ANYWHERE if you want to keep areas open

Yikes:yikes:

This started as a very scary post. Yes quadding in BC is about scenery and folks need to leave the thoughts of mud and tire spinning at home and just come here to enjoy the natural beauty of the mountains.

Anyone looking for info is welcome to call me anytime at 250-566-4817 and I will be happy to make certain that your trip to Valemount is a success. Our website also has some great rides listed along with Google Earth and Garmin GPS files to download.

Enjoy

About 4 or 5 of us are heading up there over the long weekend too. There's a trail we discovered last year that we're dying to finish. ...nothing too challenging, just a beautiful frigg'n ride. Maybe we can all meet up, go for a ride, and have a tea or two.

That would be wicked! I'll have to figure out which weekend it will be. Some buddies wanna head there for some trails too, so maybe we can tag along cuz I've never been quadding there before
