Heading to Premier Lake for August long, approx 40km south of Fairmont. I was wondering if anyone had any good destinations for us to quad to from there. Looking for mines, caves, cabins, view points, hot springs, etc. GPS coords would be nice if you have 'em.

No reponses. ....bummer.

Top of the World Provincial Park, Lussier hot spring, and RAM (river?) hotspring are not far from there and I'd really like to take my little niece and nephew for a nice day trip. It doesn't look promosing from what little I could dig up, but does anyone know for sure if we can get to any of those destinations by quad?

...no bogging, I promise.

I believe you can, there is a washout past the Ram hotsprings though. I believe you can still get through on a quad.
edit- The Lussier will be stupid buisy on the long weekend. The Coyote Creek has some great views and an old cabin at the back on a pass.

long way to quad from premier to lussier. lots of old roads out that way to explore, I don't think you can ride a quad to top of the world it's a provincial park. don't know too much about the area but from whiteswan lake you can ride to elkford. PM Ferniesnow on this site

Back country road map is your best friend out here.

There is an excellent ride to Estella mine, just south of Premier. There is a road that heads south past Quartz lake and when you get to Rock lake go down (south) the gravel road about 2~3 km. Hang a left ( i forget the name), that road takes you way up to the alpine and Estella mine. A local classic.
