It's that time of year again when everyone's thoughts turn to Sled Shows, booking riding trips, trying to justify your riding trips and tuning up your.......brain? Good answer and a great way to start a season for new sledders or old hands to the sport.

ZacsTracs has great offers on all pre booked courses until the Edmonton Sled Show. Book in now to reserve your place and receive the best deal you can. Below is a link to our general schedule and you can always cruise around our website or give us a call and we will answer any questions you have.

You don't know what you don't know. Working to make every trip a round trip.

Hello again! Here is an updated listing of classes. Take another peek as we have added a few dates. Scroll down to see the image pasted in below or follow this link to the training schedule at zacstracs.com

Maybe this is the season though to consider an update? Even better...an upgrade!

Zacs is offering a 1.5, basically an indoor, evening session to test your ability to USE and INTERPRET the content that you learned in an AST1. Read forecasts and pull out the nitty gritty details, hash out a couple new rescue scenarios and 'what if' situations, bring your photos and videos and create a class discussion on the traps, routes, and weather factors at play and look at familiar terrain with a new set of eyes. Play a hand of the Avalanche Gamble Poker Game to see how well you can calculate the risks you've been dealt.

Head outdoors with Trigger Point for the Managing Avalanche Terrain mountain field day. Don't have time for the full AST2, consider this one day option. Travel in small groups to create plans, make observations, adapt plans, follow through and debate the decisions along the way.

Think you can save a life? Or are your skills rusty? How about your riding buddies? It might only be minutes between a live rescue and a body recovery...isn't that enough motivation to test your group's skills out this season? Pretty cheap life insurance really. The 1 day mountain Companion Rescue Skills session takes the intro rescue drills from AST1 and pushes you harder. You have to master the base skills but your group also needs repeated rescue scenarios to focus and hone efficient teamwork if you are truly serious about shaving time off when it matters most.

Don't have 4 consecutive days to complete the AST2 class? What about a weekend in Golden in December and combine it with another weekend in Revelstoke in early January or early February? The best part about this is that by splitting the class over 2 months and 2 mountain ranges you will get to benefit from completely different snowpacks, avalanche conditions and terrain. This is a fantastic opportunity to pack in more learning in the same time frame.

Lots of options this season....connect with your riding group and make a plan! What have you got to lose?
