Our group of 8 partook in Curtis's avy training this last weekend. All our group could say was that it was awesome. Curtis and his crew taught the meat and potatoes of avy awareness and is a really good speaker/motivator. We also had teenage kids with us and they definitely enjoyed the course and are more "avy aware" now. It was neat that when we did our own riding during the day - Curtis would talk about the areas and have pics of previous avy slides during our evening theory training. It definitely put everything in perspective. We had the perfect weekend also because of the high avy activity and digging the snow pits that showed the real dangers that will/are happening soon. Sunday Clemina was a real good place to see the current avalanche activity - even up the trail at km 12-15.
If you are thinking of doing the course "just do it". Its not an expense - its an investment in your or other sledders lives!!
