2003 polaris sportsman fan problem

I was only about 2-3 kilometres from home and my overheat light came on, when I got home I discovered that my fan had stopped working. I bought the quad with the fan already bypassed the temp sensor so i know it's not that. I'm lost and looking for a second opinion before I fork out money for a new fan

Unplug the fan and run it directly to a +/- battery, if it runs then you have wiring issues, if it doesn't you need a fan, simple.
