Custom buggy handmade by me. Everything completely custom, I built frame, swingarm, heavily modified exhaust, built axle, airbox. Has since been outfitted with larger rad and bigger battery (to keep front wheels down). will be changing rear swingarm bearings to flange plates this year, but this thing hauls a$$!!! Goes around 100 mph. Sand paddles not installed yet. (At the shop, waiting for snow to go) Any questions, message me or I will just check back on comments! Thanks for letting me share

Two things come to mind : Either this thing does no where near 100 MPH, OR , you should have your head examined while it is still mounted to your neck............

It actually handles really well. I don't take it to the limits very often, its just too fast. Bigger tires would help with clearance, but the bottom end power suffers. For those wondering if it actually goes that fast, why are you doubting me? A 600 liquid cooled sled will go that fast, and this has less resistance. I am planning on adding a front roll cage, but it impairs the front view. I love this thing, and will be taking it to Brule late this year.

Pillow block bearings are alright if you're building a log splitter, but at 100mph, the grease is going to spin out of them in about 100'. When they seize up...see ya. I don't see any front brakes, or anything mounted on the rear axle, so I'm assuming all you have is the single caliper on the end of the jackshaft??? Your rear sprocket is less than 2" off the ground, so when you spank a rock and break the chain....see ya. I get it...it's fun to mess around in the shop and build your your own projects, but do me and my family a favor, and let us know when and where you're going to be driving this thing so we can keep away from the carnage.

The pillow blocks are going to be scrapped this year. I am going with flange bearings, for both the swingarm and axle. I have broken a few of these bearings, but all at low speed or jumping. I have full front braking, the front spindles and caliper are off of a 2005 yami warrior. This is a sand hill climber, nobody but myself rides it, and I always advise to stay clear. This is my baby, and I really like to drive it. Just because it goes 100 mph, doesnt mean I drive it that fast... very often lol. I am also aware of the sprocket clearance. I have hit rocks with it, and havent broken a chain yet. (well at least not from rocks) I am surprised that most of these comments are negative.

most guys appear to be concerned about your safety, I wouldn't call them negative comments, just worrysome comments.

LOL. I am fully aware of the dangers... I have hurt myself way more on my dirtbike than this buggy.... I have rolled it three times, all minor, but no injuries. (I was definately in an area I should not have been). It also has a three seatbelt harness system I have rigged up, so it isnt completely unsafe lol. Again, I would not let anyone else ride it. I have had it running for almost five years, and it is a riot to watch and ride.

Our comments are not negative at all. And as Grubby says while fun and everything it is a fatality that has not quite occurred yet if you take this up even close to 100 MPH.
You have NO rear suspension.....PERIOD .It has Honda big red tires that are designed to go 25 mph on dirt. Your belt /clutch are completely exposed to the debris coming of your rear tire. Have you ever had a belt lock up at speed ?

For burnin round the farm and a few donuts it`s cool, but is in no way capable of safely going over 40MPH IMO......

Good Luck....

I think its kinda cool, but ya I would not want to go very fast without a full role cage. really needs some sort of skid plate under that chain as well

LOL I really only go in sand and some trails.... I am not worried about sand in the clutches, or chain. it comes out. Mud however, I have to stay away from, and cant ride it when it's raining. When the belt gets a bit wet, game over lol. I agree that there is a major safety concern here, but no worse than any of my brothers contraptions LMAO!! he has crashed too many times to count. I actually put safety measures in place before driving it lol. To the guy that said there is NO back suspension, all you have to do is look, There is a big long shock above the swingarm, which gives the rear about 8-9" of travel. the front has a travel of about 10". If any of you seen this unit in operation, opinions may be different lol

Are you blind?? There is a big shock on that rear swing arm. It has about 8-9" travel. As for the tires, I have abused these tires beyond belief, and havent had any problems, besides popping a bead once in an while. 40 MPH is not very fast for this thing, and is is a lot safer than you make it sound. I HAVE had clutching problems, mostly from mud. I will post a video later sometime and let you see

Looks good. Im probably least twice your age and I have a sears lawn mower with an IT 175 bike engine in it doing wheelies and some wheres around the 80km/hr speed range if I dared. (10 inch front tires and no bearings yet). Also have a 1968 skidaddler sled converted into a trike with a school bus seat. Currently building a chopper moped stretched out to 8'8" in length with a frame tubed with a capacity of 18 beers and even room for ice. Soon as I can convince a buddy i want to be rippin down the highway on two pedal bikes welded side by side with his home made pulse jet engine mounted between, I steer and he runs the propane tank!

Theres no harm in projects as long as you use your head, yours is pretty cool!

Thanks Nytroman!! Those sound like pretty cool projects too!! I put my first go cart together when I was 10, basically a ride on mower with no deck, and very large rear tires..... It was very cool then. I have built a few others since, but none as cool or as fast as this one. This buggy is on it's third engine. It was born with a 500 A/C fanner, and when that blew up, I put a free air 340 in it. Finally, when the wifes sled fell apart, I stole the engine for buggy. I started on this project when I was 24, it has come a ways since I started. I think I have about 3000 hours into it, build and change, build and change..... tweak, change, build. It's kind of a passion for going fast on my own creation. Nice to hear that others think its as cool as I do. I have a different project, awaiting time, a 1970-80 something tri-moto 175, with a 340 fan cooled sled engine in it. it was one of my little brothers creations, and it desperately needs modification. (he didnt care about tuning, or gear ratio, or shaft trueness) when that is done it will be one mad trike!!
