So this is the fourth 850 we've owned, and it's actually the one we got for my son. Others have all been ridden to high mileage without many problems. The one I ride is a year older with 7000 miles on it, runs like a top. This one only has 1300 miles on it and has had some engine noise since day one. It had gotten worse, was running a little worse, and power had decreased. Left it at the dealers and then headed to warmer climates for a week. To make a short story shorter, they replaced the crankshaft, main bearings, cam sprocket.......whatever else, under warranty with new, and this cam sprocket is supposedly machined on the end of the crank instead of pressed on?? The good part is they covered it under warranty even though it was beyond the warranty by several months. I'm not real sure about some of the details about what failed, but wtf, they fixed it and it runs good now. Hopefully, end of problems. Happy with the dealer for stepping up, but then, we buy quite a bit of sh*t there.
