Got one of these installed on my 95 4x4 and a brand new interstate battery. seems like i cant get much use out of it. I can spool it in once and then the battery dies if i need it and it just gives an audible click from the solenoid. got stuck in black dirt mud this weekend and the battery died so im wondering if its just a battery? would a sealed battery hold a charge better?

is the battery connected to the charging system on the machine? if yes, keep the machine running to allow charge to keep going to the battery. If not connect it to the charging system then review first piece of advice.

the battery is connected to the charging system, and the machine is always running while the winch is in use.

i put a kfi on my renegade a few years ago and i am having a similar problem ... it kills the battery when it sits for a few days also kills the battery when i plow my drive way using the winch ... the only thing i can come up with is the relay draws the battery down when it sits

are the relays sticking and maybe drawing then? it shouldn't draw if the relay is releasing.

larger capacity battery would be your best option, or heavier duty battery if you prefer that terminology.

Was the battery fully charged after install or just dropped in?

Three things...first Bad battery get it load tested second check your charging system is providing power third bad winch could be drawing more current than it should . Do you have it fused?
