im gonna say its the cdi box... had that happen to mine.

buy one that will let you rev at about 8500rpm... its too easy to hit the rev limiter in the lower gears

thats why you don't replace the easiest thing. you'll waste a lot of money before finding the problem. With a CDI ignition no spark symptom you usually search in this order, replace plug (it's $15), resistance test on pick up coil (most common part to fail), resistance test or AC output test on the stator, then CDI.

some companies don't sell the pick-up coil separate from the stator, as i found out with kawasaki's kx models. you can try buying a pick-up coil from www.rmstator.com and it will even tell you the resistance range for your quad to reference to.

hope this helps.

you should be able call- any suzuki dealer and get specs,,, or any dealer of any unit you are working on... that will help you out for sure.

a tip would be to ask questions of the service manager , as most shops arent going to be to likely to put a mech on the phone as that takes away from the shop revenue.... in most causes between the parts guys and service manager, you should get all the info you need.

good luck

a pick-up coil doesnt make voltage. its a sensor that tells the CDI when to spark. the test for a pick-up is a resistance test. if the CDI cant see it, she wont spark.

an AC output test measures how much power your generating from your stator. so if it's burnt out you wont make spark either. a DS650 is bombardier right?

On this bike the stator is for charging the battery and 12 volt ass. like lights . The trigger coil is suppost to supply signal to the cdi but my new unit is not making the amount my book says it shoud .4 to.7 ac volts. I am getting only .1 ac volts. So now what , bad trigger coil new but NFG

Thats not likely. If they are both making .1 that means theres another issue as to why it can't make voltage. It's not very often you'll get a defective part from the manufacturer. If it came in pieces, and you think everything else is correct, check grounds then. Or take it in to a dealer.

My DS did the same thing, it was the CDI box. So I bought a CDI box and a rectifier for less than a OEM CDI box. Check the wiring itself going to and from the trigger coil, also check all ground wires as well. My trigger coil did put out 6 AC volts. Although the trigger coil could be faulty, if they're giving you 1 volt, I'd say wiring. Double check it for your self satisfaction. I hope I helped
