I really like the looks of the new ktms...haven't rode one yet, but been thinking about getting one in the future. What do you think it would be like compared to my ltr450? whats your thoughts?
Depends what your doing with it. If you expect to motocross a 525, I'd suggest keeping your LT-R. I first learned to heel click on an LT-R!!I really like the looks of the new ktms...haven't rode one yet, but been thinking about getting one in the future. I don't think I will ever get rid of my LTR...thanks for the reply.
Do you still have your LTR? or any pics of it? I have been pretty happy with mine, a few minor things I want to do to it, but don't wanna get to carried away and take something that already runs awesome and mess that up! lol
Sorry to hear that....kinda crapy. i've been looking to get nerf bars for mine, but I cant seem to find the ones Im looking for, kinda picky I guess lol. Did you see my other post in here about the performance chip i wrote about. I found it online and asked if anyone knew anything about it, or if it was worth it, but no one replied..check it out and let me know if you have any input. It supposed to give me 30 more hp, but I dunno. My brother has the same quad but his is the limited edition black one, and he just does whatever i do to mine lol, so ive started to not tell him when i add stuff and it pisses him off! I traded him my street bike for the 400ex we have now, and ive put alot of work into it, i think now he regrets trading it, but oh well. Thats one quad that is indestructable, we have put it through so much and it just keeps going....i like that reliablity. Ah sorry for getting off topic lol
Awesome pic!
I would say you should compare the KTM SX 450 to the LTR 450. My vote would be for the KTM. Only complaint I have heard is they are valved too stiff for most people.
I could write a book on the good and bad points on the ltr 450.My son has been racing them for four years. He won the pro championship for alberta in 2010, so he beats the crap out of the machinces. The biggest trouble is the transmissions, he has taken out 3rd gear four times in the last two years ,the last time happened month ago it lasted 6 hours. Reason according to engine builders in the USA is there is only 65% gear contact, and 3rd gear is the most used gear. Only solution that helps some what is billet gears at 600.00 a set. Otherwise the quad is bullet proof.
