Do i have a carb issue? Quad ran great up untill it sat for three months and all the gas evaporated out...and i mean all. Now it will start normally, run for 5-10 minutes and stall, can keep it running with small blips on the throttle for maybe another 5 minutes then itstalls and won't start til its cooled a bit.

Brand new spark plug (with good strong sark) tank is full to the top with fresh gas, dielectric greased plug....still doing it!!

Any black smoke coming out...?Starving for air maybe. Maybe a mouse nest or something stupid in the air box.?Seems strange for sure.

I use a stabilizer..I took the airbox apart, no nests...

Yesterday I took it for a slow ride around my parents acreage, and ventured out around the subdivision slowly even got it up to 3rd gear...ran great good throttle response, hit the throttle hard up there driveway (kinda steep) in third gear and it accelerated nicely up to the garage....but the moment I let off the throttle and started shifting down....it stalled. Got to first gear before it stalled. Played with the idle quite a bit....no difference.

It has to be a carb problem...and since I know next to nothing about carbs, who is interested in showin me. I am more than up to do the work so long as I have good guidance!

You might need to get a kit Rob, as some carbs rip their gaskets when you take them apart. I suspect that your low idle screw is plugged with varnish and it needs to be cleaned out plain and simple. The kits usually have a guide that comes with them.

Well the latest...I put a full tank of fuel in the quad 2 weeks ago, put a shot of Lucas fuel treatment in (was out of my Amsoil stuff) and now the old beast will idle for 40 minutes no issues.

Just wondering if these old machines are sensitive to flat batteries like the new ones? As this battery is not holding charge very well!
