Yesterday i went out for a ride to try out the new 26" zilla's. And low and behold first mile in, the temperature light came on. So shut the engine off, and let it cool for 10 minutes while someone who was riding with us had a newer polaris sportsman 800 was only running on one cylinder. I turn the key on, and the temperature light is still on... Start it up, and still, the light stuck on. So, first thing that came to mind was the fan, stuck my finger in there, with the key off, and turned the fan, and the fan blades can spin. The engine was hot, and the fan should have kicked in, But it hasn't. Will the fan motor burning out cause the temperature light to stick on? I'm not looking to spend the $230 for an arctic cat fan. Is there aftermarket fans that will work, and be better? Also looking for one that can be submerged and not fry. We found the best gravel pit ever. 2-4 feet of water with a hard sandy gravel base, and sand pits around it. Probably going to be the new place to go for us. I just took the fan off, hooked it up to a battery and the fan works, directly hooked it up bypassed the temperature switch and it turns on. But the temperature light stays on even with it bypassing the temperature switch. Tried disconnecting the battery, and it still has the light on. Trying to disconnect all the fuses and the battery again. I'm trying to look for a short but am not having much luck.

I had a similar problem with a Polaris and it was the ECM.
