So evidently parked it under a tree. No damage but when we pulled it out it wouldn't fire up till I tapped the throttle. It runs at 3500 rpm and up. Under that rpm it dies, will not idle. 3500rpm is when my clutches engage. Anything above this to 8000 rpm throttle works fine, but sticks around 4000 rpm like a cruise control. There is signs that a branch grabbed my throttle cable. On a visual inspection every thing looks fine and moves free. Where do I start to figure out problem. Carb or throttle, mechanical or electrical. How do I rule out certain parts

Disconnect cable from throttle body and then fire it up. Still the same it shouldn’t be cable issue. You may have damaged switch inside throttle block? You can search google on how to bypass/delete that.

Pulled the cable off and sled will idle with out it. I've been playing with the cable and come to the conclusion that I stretched the outside of the cable by an inch. Not able to adjust it to shorten it, so I'm off to attic cat to get a new cable. Thanks for help. Sure not liking this new body style to work on. Spent 2 hours tearing stuff off so I could get my fingers on the cable at the carb and ended up breaking the plastic panel that covers the top of the fuel tank and handle bar brace

I hate to say it but your conclusion is wrong, the cable is not what sets your throttle plates for idle. The cable should at all times be free from tension at idle and NOT hold the throttle body plates for idle.
The throttle plate linkage sits on a throttle stop. It is unlikely it became out of adjustment. You most likely damaged or jarred something loose.
Did you check your intake track for a disconnected hose, fitting or pipe. These machines are programmed to run with all intake track in place a disconnected intake can cause it to run too lean to a point of not running at all.

I would also take care tapering with throttle linkage and cables as not to disturb the TPS, if you do you might end up taking it to the dealer.

I should also add that Cat uses a throttle over ride system, it is a switch at the flipper and a switch at the throttle bodies. If these switches are not communicating (in sync) you will have starting and running issues.

You are right yes, but if the cable has the butterfly valve open during start up it will send improper signals. You can try just resetting tps but may need to do cable and tps setting.
