How high up the sight glass should you be with the gear oil? Do you have to remove the actuator to add oil?

Fill it to the top of the sight glass. And yes you have to remove the reverse actuator.

One you need to put the sled on a level surface.
Remove reverse actuator, make sure actuator is in forward position.
Fill with your choice of gear oil. Synthetic is recommended. I use 75-90 Synthetic.
IMPORTANT "fill HALFWAY up the sight glass", not to the top. Over filling the chain case will cause excessive pressure build up which can lead to seal failure.
Install reverse actuator making sure the shift actuator is in the forward position.
Start sled and test actuator reverse and forward operation
Done.
