Re: M8 174. It’s finished.

Looks great, just starting to do my 2013 with a Conquer 280 174. 174 in the deep is night and day over anything shorter. Hope the 280 works close to the 3" Powerclaw 162 on my 16. If it does it should walk all over my 16 in deep snow.

I’m hoping it works good too. Lol. I replace a worn out 2.25 pc. ( more like a 2.0). I did some looking into the track before I put it on and everyone was saying to run it backwards. So that’s what I did. Going to Valemount Wednesday the 7th till Monday. Can’t wait to try it out. Show some picture Len when you get it finished. FYI I had to cut off the brake disk. I tried heat and everything I could think of the break it loose. Good luck.

Ran the track
backwards worked pretty good. Huge difference over the old track. Rode with a 2018 162 cat and had no issues going anywhere Kent went. Yah a little farther most times. Rode blue river and had first tracks in both ground hog east and at chapel. I am going to revy next days off and if I get a chance i’m Going to turn the track around and run it forward. Really happy with the way it works though. And no problems with power.

Very nice build, good job.
The only difference i would had done is ditched the oem cooler and made a custom under the seat cooler. You would had saved your self alot of weight in ice build up that tunnel coolers are known for. Just check out Doo and Poo's and any older model Cats.
Your extension is from CR, so Chad could had made one up for ya.

The 2.6 and 2.8 are great all around performing track, 2.6 is a little more manageable then the 280 in tight trees.
While a three inch will work it requires more effort and extra deep climbs is where its best. The 3.2 is too aggressive and makes the sled difficult to manage in most conditions other then putting the high mark. Good choice in track.

I didn’t even think of getting rid of the cooler till after I was done. Might be a something to look at this summer. Only have one more trip planned then my season is done. Unless I can talk the wife into a spring ride. There’s a few other think I want to do to it over the summer. Running boards and skis for sure. Maybe cooler delete as well. It’s an On going project lol!!

If you go this rout have Chad at CR supply you with the newer tunnel cap. It will not have the triangular cut out for the rear heat exchanger's but will be fully closed.
Then have him make you a under the seat U cooler and ditch your OEM cooler. By eliminating the oem tunnel cooler your going to save a lot of weight and ice build up.

It is true, Cat's are heavier on a shop floor then Doo's and Poo's, but not in the snow and who rides a sled in a shop? LOL

That’s good to know. Thank you. I’ll start rounding up info on my days off.
