hey i got a 2010 m8 limited 153, and i am so confused at what my sled is doing.
i can not find any info anywhere on the web about this issue!
i rode all day last sunday and my sled ran great when we got to the trailer at the end of the day we shut our machines off took our gear off and our sleds sat for maybe 10-15 minutes, so i started mine to load it up like usual and it would go in and out of reverse randomly every couple seconds. and if i gave it throttle it would start to die once the clutch engaged. it died a few times going up the trailer but i finally got it in, i unplugged my ecu cables thinking it would reset it or something when i got home and the same thing happend when i was unloading it.. please help me get back on the mountains ! thanks

oh all the sled had done to it is a slp can. other then that its all stock.

Button frozen / stuck down?? Warm shop overnight to thaw it out and then try again, If it persists could be a tough one to find. Have never heard of this one before.

Moisture/snow in reverse switch
^^^ what he said. it's happened a few times on my '05 rev. blow it out with compressed air or use wd-40, or dry it with a hair dryer.

when it did it to mine, if i clicked onto hi beam it would stop in whatever direction it was turning the motor. switch it back to low beam and it would start doing it again. kooky

Mine just did this on the weekend, I finally had to disconnect the handlebar harness from behind the plate where the goggle warmer is. It fixed the issue to finish the ride. But now I got to figure it out, hoping its moisture in the switch.

Sorry about last on check the main plug in around the steering post, the steering post rubs through the plug, or wires sometimes. Seen three like this, causes reverse to sporadically go out as well as headlights if it gets bad. The plug is behind the metal plate where steering post bolts up to bearings

That main plug around the steering post collects moisture. Unplug it, get it dried and maybe put som electrical grease in it.
