My cat has had some reed issues. The 1st new set was changed 3 trips ago with 3000kms. Rode 3 trips and now at 3400kms. Both reeds chipped and flaked so new set installed. Since last set installed there has been zero backfires. New reeds installed have been warranty and are still OEM reeds. Can anyone help why my sled is chewing these up now. Only thing added is a Jaws can.

I'm following this thread because I have a 16 and have heard that this is a common issue.

Have a real close good look at your intake screens and intake ducts. Water/snow ingestion is a killer on reeds. Most likely what took out the originals.
Cat's intake screening are not.... great.
