As stated in the title.... I have a 700 dragon and am selling to either buy a 13' Pro-Ride (I love the way pro's handle) but after reading forums I think the 2010 and newer M series 800 cats are more reliable, which Im looking for slightly more than ride as Im not very mechanically inclined and don't mess with stock setups much. That being said:

How come the 2010 M series 800 cats are so much better than 09'and earlier?

Do the 2010 M's have the diamond drive? If so, comments on reliability?

How do the newer M8's ride compared to the Pro's (I am going to demo a cat)

What are the biggest issues with 10's and newer that seem to arise?

Whats the diff between the HCR, Proclimb and the reg M8?

Thanks all in advance

2010's got the HO engine over the 09's more HP! had a 2011 and they are a strong motor. You still need to do the diamond drive upgrade but that's not a big deal. Was a great sled

I still ride my 2010 M8. Got over 2500 miles on it with no issues yet. I am doing the DD bearing upgrade before this season. They are a great sled.

Is the M chassis far behind the prormks with maneuverability?

Thanks so far gents. Im not worried about hp in 800. All the brands have enough power for me to get into trouble bone stock. Ditto GD's question above.....

Sounds like the dd is something that needs addressing if i make the purchase. Any idea on cost? Do the 2011,12 or 13' come with the dd upgrade out of the crate or engineering fix been done?

Do the 2010 M's have the diamond drive? If so, comments on reliability? diamond drives are overall ok, Cat switched back to a chaincase in 2012

How do the newer M8's ride compared to the Pro's (I am going to demo a cat)the new chassis that came out in 2012 is "night & day" different from the old chassis. Better handling, better visibility, better ride (IMO)

What are the biggest issues with 10's and newer that seem to arise? some of the 2012's had clutch heat issues which resulted in premature belt failure...issue has since been fixed and is no longer a problem...in 2014, some clutch design changes were made that pretty well eliminated the issue. Many 2012's & 13's had this update done

Whats the diff between the HCR, Proclimb and the reg M8? HCR comes with better shocks than the sno pro and a stiffer track and wider stance A-arms. The Proclimb narrowed the A-arms making it a very nimble sled to play around with
