I have a CFR 800. I took the diamond drive out after noticing metal shavings in the oil. Found a shredded bearing. Replaced everything and now I cant get the DD back in. Is there a trick? Everything Ive read says to put it in about half way then use the drive shaft bolt to snug it in. Problem is I cant get it in far enough for the drive shaft bolt to thread into the output shaft of DD.

ANY help would be appreciated.

Mine is a PITA too! I finally managed to get mine in far enough so that the shaft bolt could grab it and pull it in. Did you upgrade the 6203 bearing or replace it with another 6203?

At least it was caught early enough before causing major damage. The stock replacement will give you "peace of mind" that the DD should be good for the season.

Sorry but.....the stock bearing would not give me personally any piece of mind what so ever. I haven't pulled one apart yet where the stock bearing wasn't coming apart. The double row 3203 replacement always looks like new though. Love my M sleds, but AC blew it big time on this item. The M7 had a double row bearing stock, then they cheaped out on the M's after that.

I was one of the lucky ones I guess. I bought my sled this year with just below 400 miles on it. Decided to do the upgrade since I had everything pulled apart anyway. The 6203 was still good but got changed anyway. One of the other 1602 bearings was a bit rough and got changed as well.

Something like the diamond drive should be made so that the average rider can easily have a look and see what if anything is going bad. I know that opens a can of worms that not everyone knows what to look for but it's something that should be taken into consideration when designing these things.
as far as piece of mind, sure it's new parts but this is the second time in 1697miles I've had issues. First time I wasn't so lucky. Complete destruction of every component inside the DD case the first time around.
