Hey guys I'm a little unsure of myself here I have a 2003 f7 and I needed to replace my primary clutch on it. So after doing a little research I bought a clutch that's for a 2006 M6 It came new in a box but I have been looking at everyone elses M series and crossfire clutches and there is a little gold ring on the back side of the clutch now I'm told that is a weight of some sort for balancing but this new clutch i got does not have it so I'm not sure if I have to run it on the fire cat because the old clutch did not have one???

I was also told from the guy I bought it from "Just put the clutch on and go" so I'm not sure what to do any information would be great because we are leaving to the mountains on the 29th and I want everything to go good.

Hey 'hardy' post some pictures of both if you can..... Are you talking about brass sleeve on inner of clutch that slides over shaft ????? . Give 'Catmando' or 'Tekim'a pm or anyone else that has Kats.... I would say if it don't have it don't add it.

If your talking about the gold ring on the the outer edge of the inner sheave, it's a balancer/heat sink. Some guys have removed it and found the sled will spool up a bit quicker. Not sure whether it's really necessary or not.
