Arctic Cat Blast ZR4000 Demo ride with my daughter this morning 12 yr old. I think they have a home run here and will be looking to snowcheck the Alpha M4000 version. The fit for a teenager is spot on. I think the fit and finish could be better then current full size sleds. If I was a teenager I would want a product marketed and geared towards me, it gets the stoke for the next gen. Ski-doo 165 turbo for me though please.

Who else is snowchecking an Alpha Blast ? Riding partners are hard to find if you don't start breeding them early.

I think they are onto something for sure but sadly the pricing is out to lunch. the rmk evo is a better buy in my eyes at half the price. leaves you lots of money to go the chris burandt route and turn it into a sweet little mod sled. id still love to see one in person tho.

I think if you parked the evo and blast next to each other you’ll see the price difference. The evo as basic as it gets. The shocks look weak, a arms look weak and a 20 year old fan cooled carbed motor. The blast has alpha mono rail, good shocks, and high tech motor. The motor is a 800 cut in half.

I feel the same way about the price, crazy. I think the M4000 Alpha is very different then the Evo. I also think these Blasts have a chance to really hold their value and will be hot items as used sleds. My daughter is pumped, its geared towards her, she isn't pumped about the evo or any other sled, this one has her excited!@ so that's the final decision maker.

I looked real hard at the Blast M 4000. It definitely has some very nice features. The shocks are just hydraulic twin tube same as the Polaris Evo also they both use the CV Tech primary clutches. The Blast uses a CV Tech secondary while Polaris uses its own. Both Machines have electric start. The Blast has new technology in the motor where the Evo is carbed and been around for a long time but is proven. The Alpha mono rail and 146 challeger is a real nice combo. I think the 550 fan is 60hp the Blast single cylider is 65HP from what the Cat rep told me. The Blast is definitely lighter and i think would handle better. The price i got was $11,195 plus gst and setup. Thats for the white and red Canadian flag sled with the pro kit which includes pro climb bumper tunel bag and handle bar bag. A fair bit more than the Evo. Im having trouble with the price of Blast if you could get it for ten all in id buy.

Hey skegpro i ride a 2009 crossfire 500 im looking at upgrading not looking for big power just something similar to what ive got. Thats why i was looking at this sled and a few different polaris 550. How did you find it did? Would it be similar to an older 500 with it being new technology. The cat rep said its pretty much the 8 cut in half. Im thinking with it being lighter and with the new chasis it might be better than my crossfire.

No you wouldn't like it.

Engine is more like 340 polaris air cooled gt, if you remember those.

Engine has alot of lag.
But it's exactly what I would put my kid on when he turn 8ish.

Ok thanks Skegpro. We had an indy lite 340gt lol. Had twin carbs on it stretched with a 136 1.25 on it. Poor mans 340 rmk lol. I wished i had a chance to ride the Blast but no snow left around Calgary and they wouldn't let me take it to Golden tomorrow go figure. Maybe i should just by the alpha skid and the track put it on my sled. I wasn't keen on spending that much anyways.

no, its the only thing you can buy. the yammi looks nice in blue too.

Yammi? ... are you talking ZR 200? From the video I watched (and I think you posted) that was the only thing you can buy.

Already got one of those!

Not sure if you tried to find one, but for the calls I made I’m pretty sure you won’t unless you snowchecked it.
